Worshipful Master’s Masonic Visit to Norman Lodge
Last night I made a masonic visit to Norman Lodge in Durham where a third degree ceremony was performed. on arrival I was greeted warmly by the Master and Brethren of the lodge. Including myself there were five visiting City Temple reigning masters which must have been very gratifying for the Master of Norman Lodge. I’ve always considered the number of visiting masters at a lodge meeting to indicate the popularity of that lodge – hence gratification for the Worshipful Master.
The ceremony in the lodge room was performed well with a number of the lodge members contributing to the ritual and the candidate must have enjoyed the ceremony as he was all smiles as he left the lodge at the end of the meeting.
We all retired to the bar for a pre dinner drink and then onto the dining room where we all fed well on a three course meal, ending with one of my favourite desserts – Eton mess. The usual after dinner toasts and speeches were made and my lodge was honoured by the Master requesting me to reply to the toast to “The Visitors.” This I was delighted to do and on behalf of all the visitors thanked the lodge for entertaining us all so well. Yet another splendid Masonic Visit!
